Kolonna Hotel Riga
Tirgonu Iela, Riga, 1050
Very Good, 4 Opened in 2005, this city hotel comprises a total of 41 rooms spread over 6 floors. During reconstruction work, the central façade retained its original appearance whilst the interiors were completely adapted to suit guests' needs. Merchants Street is one of the most important streets in Riga and records mentioning it date back to as early as the 13th century. Initial documented information about buildings along this street were found from the 14th century when German merchants constructed homes here, near Dome Square. Over time, many constructions have been built here, the most important of the 18th century taking place during the 70's and 80's. The style of the houses was changed significantly, meaning that instead of Renaissance elements, the façade gained more classical features. Amongst the facilities count a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a safe and a lift in addition to a hairdresser salon, a café, a bar, a breakfast room and a playground. It is possible to make use of the laundry service.
