Commodore Hotel

This family-friendly hotel was built in 1928 and was originally called Crawford's Tea Rooms. In the war it was used to house serving American airmen. In the early 1950s, an extension was added and it became a bar and hotel. Not long after that, it became a full hotel with 12 en suite rooms, a restaurant and a bar. There is limited complimentary parking on-site and a designated disabled parking space. There is off-road parking in the streets nearby.

Location

This hotel enjoys an ideal location on the cliff top at Southbourne, adjacent to the cliff lifts and Fishermans Walk. Spectacular views across Poole Bay take in Swanage to the West and the Isle of Wight. The surrounding area provides plenty of sightseeing opportunities, with the heart of the New Forest just 15 minutes' drive away and easy access to the Isle of Purbeck, Corfe Castle and Allworth Cove. Southampton Airport is 55 km away and it is 145 km to Bristol Airport.

Rooms

All of the newly refurbished bedrooms come with a private bathroom with toiletries from Gilchrist and Somas and offer brand-new deep-pocket sprung divans, luxurious duvets and pillows. All of the bathrooms have also been refurbished with new English fittings and power showers. The rooms are equipped with a TV, a radio alarm and tea and coffee making facilities. All are non-smoking there is a range of double, twin and family rooms available.
